IAG / GGOS activities

The BGI contributes within IAG, and its components GGOS to several Working Groups and projects aimed at improving:

  • the global knowledge and accuracy of the Earth gravity
  • the definition and realization of gravity standards and networks
  • the development and evaluation of new gravity sensors (quantum gravimetry)
  • JWG 2.1.1: Development of the International Gravity Reference Frame (IGRF)
    (joint with IGFS, BGI, IGETS)
Chair: Hartmut Wziontek (Germany) / Vice-Chair: Sylvain Bonvalot (France)
  • JWG 2.2: Validation of combined gravity model EGM2020
    Chair: Bettapur Srinivas (USA)
  • JWG 2.1.2: Unified file formats and processing software for high-precision gravimetry
    (joint with IGFS, IGETS, BGI)
Chair: Ilya Oshchepkov (Russia) / Vice-Chair : Vojtech Pálinkáš (Czech Republic)
  • JWG QuGe : Novel sensors and quantum technology for Geodesy
Chair : Jürgen Müller (Germany) / Vice-Chair : Macelo Santos (Canada)
